FAREWELL PARTY
BUSINESS GIRLS' LYCEUM
Bowls of 'flowers and autumn berries i and a cheerfully blazing open fire com-1 bined pleasantly with the autumn tonings of the newly-acquired furnishings in the club room eft the Y.W.C.A Business Girls' Lyceum, and afforded a happy setting for the farewell party arranged for Miss, Doris Webb, former president of the club, on the occasion of her approaching marriage. A competition. "The Wedding of the Birds," was won by Miss Connie Naulls, and the association's "ice-breaker" chorus, arranged with original words, was sung. The guest of honour was the recipient of a novelty "bouquet," comprising various "washing-day" requisites, and an illuminated souvenir scroll, suitably worded with an extract from the "Purpose of the Association" and signed by the staff and the club members, was also presented. On behalf of the Business Girls' Lyceum, the president of the club presented Miss Webb with a large, beautifully-cut crystal vase, and expressed ,'the general sentiments of those present in wishing her a very happy and prosperous future. In responding, Miss Webb outlined the rapid growth of the club from its inception. Being one of the "pioneer" members her remarks were particularly, interesting, and. it was regretted that the distance of her future home necessitated her resignation from future activities. ' j
