LOWER HUTT BANDS

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—ln a news article headed "Lower Hutt Bands" in your issue of yesterday there are two points I would like to correct. First, the proper name for the pipe band referred to by the gentleman who complains is not "Peton'e Pipe Band" but "Hutt Valley Pipe and Drum Band," and we were not engaged but requested to play; and second, the Pipe Band has no connection, whatever with the Fifth or any other Wellington regiment, but are an incorporated body, entirely self-sup-porting.—l am, etc., JAMES W. ROY, Secretary, Hutt Valley Pipe and Drum Band.
