FAREWELL TO MISS BATHAM.
Parents and old pupils ■will meet next Tuesday in St. Francis Hall to do honour to a distinguished member of tue teaching profession, Miss Batham, 8.A., the retiring principal of ■ Wellington East Girls' College, who has been un outstanding figure in the educational life of the city for some years. Amongst many forms of college activity, Miss Batham has given a very fine lead in iue development of a strong.Parents' Association, vvhicb has become a real force in maintaining college interests and in building up a worthy school tradition. Parents, old girls, and the stiff have all been active in promoting Tuesday's function, which it its hoped will have the support of all interested ii educational welfare. The speakers will include the Acting Prime Minister, the Mayor, and representative;; of other sections of the community. There: will sJso be musical items.
