PETONE DENTAL CLINIC
The annual report of the Petone Dental Clinic committee, presented to the annual meeting this week, states that the roll at present contains over 700 names of children from the five Petone schools. The number of children on the roll who received treatment, and also the collection of fees, had again exceeded the equivalent totals for the previous year. There were very few children under school age being treated at present, as with the admission of- the five-year-old children to the schools they had become absorbed in the various school, rolls. The nurse's time was fully occupied with • the children who were attending school and it had not been found possible to treat other children. The clinic was in a sound financial position. The balance-sheet showed that receipts were in excess of expenditure and now that this result had been achieved the committee would have to consider whether a reduction could be made in the fee to parents. The numr ber of children in .arrears with their fees was slightly larger: than for the nrevious year, but this was attributed to the closing of .the .schools. Nurse M. Grocott had done excellent work and had. been assisted for part of the time by Nurse F. O. Goldsmith. Nurse E. G. J. Hanlon was at present attached to the staff.
