FIRE-FIGHTERS
EASTBOURNE VOLUNTEERS The annual meeting of the Eastbourne Volunteer Fire Brigade was held last week. Mr. E. W. Wise (Mayor of Eastbourne) presided over an.attendance of fourteen members. The superintendent's report was read and received. The secretary submitted the financial statement, which was adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, the Hon. W. Nash; president, Mr. E. W. Wise; vice-pre-sidents; all re-elected; superintendent, Mr. H. W. Kelly; deputy superintendent, Mr. S. Fleming; foremen, Messrs. R. Evans and A. Lucchesi; motorman, Mr. G. Hood; secretary and first-aid officer, Mr. R. Hull; executive, Messrs. G. Hood and R. Mellor; auditor, Mr. H. L. Comrie. ■ The Mayor congratulated the brigade on the great service it was giving to the borough and also on the fine attendance of members during the year.
