Mrs. Alister Young, The Terrace, is visiting Hastings.

Mrs. E. J. Herrick and Miss Julia Herrick, Hastings, are visitors to Wellington; and are staying at the Midland Hotel. ■

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wood, who have been for some months -in Christchurch, will arrive in Wellington on Wednesday to join the Rangitane by which they will travel to' England.

Mrs.. D. <L." Johnston, wife of Lieu-tenant-Commander Johnston. H.M.S. Achilles, has taken 'up residence at Edenhall Flats, Auckland.

Miss J. Mac Donald and Miss G. Sparrow, formerly of Ashburton, will leave Wellington tomorrow by the Awatea for Australia. "... ■

Miss J. Tarrant, matron of the Timaru Girls' High School, has been appointed matron of Wellington College.

Mrs. M. C. Walker, Evans Bay, has left for Gisborne to attend the golden wedding of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Ambridge. '

Mrs. Hugh McGill, Auckland, will arrive in Wellington shortly to spend a six months' holiday.
