OBITUARY

MRS. SARAH JONES

(.By Telesxaph—Press Association.) ; DARGAVILLE, This Day.

The death occurred at her residence at Mangawhare last evening of Mrs. Sarah Jones, Mayoress of Dargaville, at the age of 72 years. She had been Mayoress for twelve years and was a prominent worker in the Roman Catholic Church, St. John Amublance, the Plunket Society, the Women's Institute, and similar organisations. Mrs. Jones was born in the Waikato, coming to this district 37 years ago. She is survived by her husband, Mr. F. A. Jones, two sons—Messrs. W. E. Jones (Frankton Junction) and K. F. Jones (Gisborne)—and one daughter— Mrs. C. C. Turner (Whangarei).
