LONDON, March 8.

The golfing correspondent of the "Daily Mail" says a census is being taken of the number of clubs in the bags of club members with a view to presentation to the Royal and Ancient Club in connection with the proposed limitation of clubs to 14. It is believed the results show an overwhelming majority in favour of 15 or more clubs, which preference the rules of golf committee cannot flout to the extent of restricting the clubs except in championships. The rules of golf committee will recommend to the Royal and Ancient meeting next May that the number of clubs which may be used to play a game be limited to 14.
