SAN FRANCISCO, March 6,

• United Airlines have announced that a radio microphone lodged between a control column and a seat rail caused the crash in San Francisco Bay last month. The pilot, Tommy' Thompson, was helpless to prevent the crash.

A cable received on February. 11 stated that a transport aeroplane, with 11 people aboard, plunged into San Francisco Bay when en route from Los Angeles to the San Francisco airport. There wers no survivors.
