WAIRARAPA MATCH
WIN FOR WELLINGTON
The policy of the Wellington Association of including promising younger players in matches with other associations received considerable support from the results of the match with Wairarapa at Miramar yesterday, all of the juniors acquitting themselves well. The strong northerly wind upset the play of the.Wairarapa team, which was not at full strength, Wellington winning by 22 rubbers to 2. 45 sets to 6, and 303 games to 149. The Wellington Association entertained the visitors during the day, and the Wairarapa captain, P. Hawksworth, expressed the appreciation of the players for the hospitality received. Mr. E. M. Pinkerton managed the Wellington team and Mr. J. Chai'ters was captain. Results of matches were as foliows (Wellington players mentioned first): Men's Singles. J. Charters beat G. McLeod, 6-3, 9-7; N. Smith lost to P. Hawksworth, 3-6, 2-6; T. Lyons beat M. Hobson, 6-4, 6-2; J. Nevitt beat G. Simpson, 6-2, 6-1; J. Blyth beat N. Miller, 6-4, 6-0, A. D. Latham beat J. Dwane, 6-1, 6-0. Women's Singles. j Miss J. Douthett beat Mrs. Ward, 6-1, 6-0; Mrs. A. D. Latham beat Miss Kilmister, 6-2, 6-0; Miss D. Maslen beat Mrs. P. Hawksworth, G-l, 6-3; Miss J.
