Wool shipments from Australia in the period from.July 1, 1936, to January 31 1937, amounted to 1,674,915 bales. More than 175,000 bales .were shipped to the United States, which is now fourth on the list of. the wool customer countries. The shipments to Japan were 39,324 bales, compared with 472,966 bales in the seven months ended January 31, 1936. ' Britain took 715,872 bales, or more than 42 per cent, of the total wool exports this season to the end of January.
