London wool sales competition very keen with prices generally par to 5 per cent, dearer than opening rates. ' Mutton, ewes 33d to 4 5-8 d per lb; wethers, 4d to 5 5-8 d; lamb, 6 5-8 dto 74d; beef, 2Jd to 4Jd; pork, 6Jd to 6|d. ' Butter;. 90s. per cwt; cheese, white 555, coloured 565.
