MR. SAVAGE IN WAIKATO

HAMILTON, This Day.

With traditional Maori ceremony the I Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) was welcomed by "a large concourse at the Ngaruawahia Pa this morning. The influx of Maoris to the pa commenced yesterday when 160 delegates from the principal hapus of the province conferred on questions for presentation to the Minister today. Difficulties which have arisen in the Native land settlement scheme were brought to the Prime Minister's notice. This afternoon Mr. Savage will be welcomed at Huntly where a reception in his honour is being tendered in the Town Hall. As a result there was no work at the mines near Huntly today.

E. Johnston and Co.. auctioneers, will sell household furnishings at the residence, 29a Bolton Street, tomorrow, at 10.30 a.m. They will also sell ladies' coats, etc., at their mart, 8 Willeston Street, tomorrow, at i.30 p.m.
