HONEY FOR EXPORT

GOODWILL OVERSEAS

CONTROL BOARD'S ATTITUDE

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, This Day.

"The Board has decided to make it known that foreign honey flavours, either straight or blended, can easily be detected by the grader and the Board will not accept for export any honeys except those produced in New Zealand," said Mr. J. R. Butland, chairman of the Honey Control Board, today, when referring to reports published throughout the Dominion that traders nc: engaged regularly in the business proposed importing cheap honeys and re-exporting them.

Mr. Butland said that the shortage in New Zealand appeared to be somewhat magnified as the crop was not yet known, but owing, to the long spell of wet weather most producers had suffered a serious reduction in crops. The board intended to guard the goodwill which had been built' up overseas at the producers' expense.
