Mrs. A. Hickling, sister of the bride, assisted the bride's mother to receive the guests at Kirkcaldies and Stains' Jacobean Room. Mrs. Hickling wore a smart taffeta coat over her black and lemon floral frock, and carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers. Mrs. Jefferys wore a navy blue ensemble, a hat with touches of white, and a shoulder spray of scarlet carnations and roses. Mrs. W. Quinn, mother of the groom, was wearing an attractive blue and white ensemble, and carried a dainty bouquet of pink roses.

Mr. and Mrs. H. Quinn left by car for the north. The bride travelled in a black tailored costume with Chinese hand-made satin blouse, and black hat and white accessories.

To tempt children make cornets of thin meat filled with salad, and kept together with a fine wooden skewer. Little'moulds of aspic jelly served with salad will usually tempt them when appetites are fickle.
