"GETTING TOGETHER"
INFORMAL GATHERING
ROTARIANS' PLEASANT TIME
Rotarians seem to originate pleasantly informal expressions for their gatherings, and the, "get together" evening held at the Art Gallery last night was just a delightfully iniormal affair when introductions were the order of the function —a good idea as only Rotarians and the ladies accompanying them were present.
The guests, numbering about 400, were received by Mr. H. E. Anderson (president of the hosts' club) and Mrs. Anderson, the latter wearing ■ a smart gown of black crepe with straps and wide bow of flame satin figured with diamante. '
Miss Iris Mason led an orchestra, which discoursed pleasant and acceptable music, and later a delightful film of topical views, depicting Honolulu and:. other places, was shown by.. Mr. Hoy Banks who had taken the pictures. Both Mr. and, Mrs. Banks and also their daughter wore charming leis, which had been given them, by the Hawaiians as a token; of friendship during their visit. -To this was added an "aloha" greeting from the Hawaiian representatives.
Much conversation was then indulged in,, with some attention to the pictures, and later all adjourned to the tearooms for a delectable supper. The first meeting was altogether a very happy affair. , . . . '
The conference committee consists of Sir Alex. Roberts, Messrs. J. M. A. Ilott (chairman),. F. Campbell (deputy chairman), H. E. Anderson, E. G. Harper (conference secretary), Miss F. M. Low (assistant conference secretary), and Mr. W. H. Nankervis (conference treasurer). .
