MR. NASH'S MISSION

DISCUSSIONS IN LONDON

LONDON, February 27.

After his return from Birmingham Mr. Walter Nash conferred with Mr. W. S. Morrison, Minister of Agriculture, with reference to the livestock embargo. He expressed the opinion that if stock could be completely safeguarded against the possibility of infection, New Zealand would be sympathetic towards lifting the embargo. Later Mr. Nash had further discussions with Ministers regarding imports of meat and New Zealand's trade policy. Last Wednesday he met representatives of firms underwriting risks of seacarriage of New Zealand produce. Mr Nash discussed trade on Thursday with the South Rhodesian High Commissioner, and afterwards with Baron Colwyn, who is interested in the cotton and other industries. On Friday he addressed two meetings at Oxford on New Zealand's policy.
