MATUA'S TRIP FROM SUVA
PASSENGER TAKES ILL

AUCKLAND, This Day.
When the steamer Matua, from Suva, was 270 miles from Auckland at 9 o'clock' yesterday morning,l a passenger, Mr. H. Sellwood, of Tonga, was taken ill. The vessel was not due here until this morning, but she averaged 17 knots and arrived shortly before midnight. The patient was conveyed to hospital in an ambulance and it was reported today that his condition was not serious.
.' The. Matua brought 21,463' cases ,of bananas, including 5350 cases from Rarotonga. ■ Among the passengers was a son of the Queen of Tonga. He will attend Sydney University. Another passenger was Judge H. F. Ayson,.Resident Commissioner of the. Cook Islands, who is visiting New Zealand on departmental business. He said that conditions in the islands are satisfa6tory and the people contented and happy.
