NEED FOR COMMISSION

OAMARU, This Day.
It was a delicate matter for one local body to surest to another that they should amaTgamate, said Mr. J. Rodman, . chairman, at a Waitaki County Council meeting. If any progress was to be made towards this desirable end the Government should take the initiative. It was unlikely there would be much amalgamation until the Government appointed a Commission and took evidence.
