AWARDS AT HUTT SHOW
The following awards were made at. the gladiola and dahlia show at Lower Hutt yesterday:— . Special Prizes. The winners of the various trophies were: N. B. Gibbons Cup, Mr. vv. .... Toon; D. A. Ewen trophy, J. OMor C C. Odlin trophy, F. J. Burrell; R. Wilson trophy, F. K. London other winners (for this show only) were: Mrs E. L. Riddiford's cup, Mrs. H. J. Creely; Mrs. E. L. Sanderson's trophy, Miss E. Smith; the G. A; Chapman Memorial,'.-Mrs. A. Mcßain; Mrs. A. N Gower's trophy, Mrs. J. McMillan; the Lady Bledisloe Cup, Miss in. uarratt; Mrs. S. M. Hobbs's trophy, Mist N Garratt; the Elsie Memorial, Joyce Stupples; the Kersley Rose Bowl, Miss E. Smith. ■ . ~ The champion of champions of the show was a "Miss New Zealand shown by W. Garratt, which also secured the amateur championship; u>. champion open class gladiola was a "Petiti" shown by Mr. W. R. Toon; the champion (amateur, class) dahlia was a "Daily Mail," shown by Mr. J. W. Nisbet, and in the novice class a "Treasure Island" shown by Mrs. a. W. Freeman. An R.H.S. silver gilt medal was awarded to Mr. C. "H. Matthews for a stand of begonias; silver medals to Mr. H. J. Poole (begonias), C. F. Pilcher and Sons (ferns, palms, and dahlias), A. McMillan (dahlias), T. C. and D. Bilby (gladioli). Lower Hutt Borough reserves committee (hydrangeas), and1 Miss C. A. Fraser (novelty stall); bronze medals to F. Mason (dahlias) and A. J. Shailer and Son (dahlias), and certificates to the Rev. S. H. D. Peryman (gladioli) and &. H. Hay ward (asters). .
