COMING JUBILEE SHOW

The management committee of the Wellington Kennel Club met last week to make the final arrangements for the running of the jubilee show, which is to be held for two days and nights on Wednesday and Thursday, March The resignation of Mi". R. N. Elliott from the committee was accepted with regret and the hon. secretary was requested to write a special letter to Mr. and Mrs. Elliott to express appreciation of valuable esrvices rendered by them both in the past. It was decided to consent to the date for the Wellington- District Cocker Spaniel Club's ribbon parade being changed to March 13. The following additional officers were appointed:—Ring stewards: For Mr. Hunt on the first day in connection with non-sporting dogs, Mr. Nicql; for Mr. Hunt on the second day in connection with toy breeds, Mrs. Weeds; for Mr. Redfearn in connection with terriers, Mr. Hinchliff; and for Mr. Taylor in connection with sporting dogs, Mr. Laws; award stewards, Miss Aitken and Mr. Bethall; supervisor, Mr. Edgar; assistant, Mr. Hook. The president, Mr. Edgar, spoke in appreciation of the assistance he had had during the year from the committee. Several members replied, giving full praise for the outstanding work done by Mr. Edgar himself. The hon. secretary was asked to write formally to the president wishing him a most enjoyable visit to England. A similar letter is to be forwarded to Mr. Alex P. Smith, who is also leaving on a trip to the Old Country. An indication was given that the coming exhibition was showing- every evidence of success. Over 300 dogs had already been entered, representing nearly every breed recognised by the Kennel Club. Judging will commence early on Wednesday morning, March 3, and will proceed all day. Several variety classes will be judged in the evening for the benefit of the visiting public, and the grand parade will be held at 7.30 on the second night of the show. The public are being asked to indicate by vote their idea of the most popular dog in the show.
