HAWERA PROGRAMME

Owners and trainers are.now beginning to arrange their Easter ■ programmes, and the Hawera Trotting Club's Easter Meeting on March 27 and 29 must command attention. A good all-round programme has been arranged for the two days. The principal event, the Hawera Trotting Cup, carrying a stake of £400, including a cup valued at £25, will be decided on the opening day, and is for horses that can do two miles in 4min 40sec or better, and for the same class of race on the second day, the Waimate Plains Handicap, £300 and a canteen of cutlery will be the prize. Other events range in value from £100 for the slower-class horses upon to £200.
