Production records in Sheffield district continue to be broken, mainly because of the increasing pressure from domestic consumers. The demand for special and stainless steels is particularly strong, and the railways and motor manufacturers are placing a heavy volume of business. The heavy and light steel and engineering trades are enjoying great prosperity.
