MAJOR-GENERAL LOOMIS

MONTREAL,' February 16. The death has occurred of MajorGeneral Loomis, a hero of Mons.

Major-General Sir Frederick Oscar Warren Loomis was born in 1870 and commanded the 13th Canadian Infantry Battalion, the 7th Canadian Infantry Brigade, and the 3rd Canadian Division. He served ins the World War from 1914 to 1919 and was mentioned in dispatches seven times and awarded the D.S.O. and bar; and C.M.G., the Legion of Honour, the Croix de Guerre, and the Order of Leopold. He was an honorary citizen of Mons and of Cambrai. He'was married and had five sons and two daughters.
