LINCOLN SHEEP
BREEDERS' MEETING
(Special to the "Evening Post.")
MASTERTON, This Day.
The annual'meeting of the Lincoln Sheep Breeders' Association of New Zealand was held in Masterton yesterday, the president, Mr. L. R. Wilton, presiding. The annual report expressed regret that the membership of the association was gradually decreasing in numbers, due principally to the. fact that Lincolns'were not finding special favour with sheep breeders in New Zealand. Interest was sustained in the export of stud Lincolns to the Argentine, where a ready market always seemed available to those breeders who catered for the requirements of that country. Very satisfactory prices had been received for sheep shipped on owners' account, thus warranting the efforts made to provide a suitable sheep for the conditions existing in the Argentine.
Lincoln wool had returned to breeders a very satisfactory price at the recent wool sales, and it behoved breeders who still maintained thcii flocks to look to the future for further'benefits in. this direction. .. . ."'"'. ' >
Officers were elected as follows: — President, Mr. L. R. Wilton; vice-presi-dent, Mr.-Mi P. Brewer; hon. treasurer, Mr. David Donald; council, Messrs. Donald McKenzie, H. J. Rayner, and J. H. Percy. Messrs. L. R. Wilton,. E. T. Wilton, H. J. Rayner, and J. H. Percy were appointed a sub-committee to deal with any urgent business during the year.
