INTEREST IN LEWIS DRAMA.

When Sinclair Lewis wrote his story "It Can't Happen Here," it is said he had the late Huey Long in rhind: the story is dated prior to Long's death. John C. Moffitt collaborated with Mr. Lewis in dramatisation of the book, and it is stated that he and the author had many temperamental outbursts at the latter's elaborate summer place at Vermont. Mr. Lewis threatened at one stage to withdraw, owing to interference from the authorities. The story aims to show what might happen if a dictator ruled America. In New York there was heavy advance booking for the play's premiere, and tickets were difficult to obtain for the tlrst several weeks. It was inevitable that some Of the tickets should reach the>hands of speculators, and also inevitable : that there would be some criticism.
