FROZEN MEAT

, The Bank of Australasia, has received the following cable from its London office, dated London, February 3:—■ Frozen lambs: Large arrivals early in last month, together with increased stocks accumulated previously owing to poor demand, made prices weaker, trade continued slow; it was also handicapped by influenza epidemic and a further small decline took place. Owing to smaller New Zealand killings in December stocks became temporarily short and although demand only moderate market firm with upward tendency. Frozen mutton: supplies limited and prices steady in spite of slow trade; recently there have been more inquiries for ewes end market firmer for these.

Frozen beef: Supplies limited here and afloat, prices have advanced slightly, demand comparatively good.
