SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS. Yesterday was fine over practically the whole of the Dominion, while an anticyclone of very alight Intensity passed by to the northwards. During the night, however, a very deep depression advanced from the faouth Tasman Sea and by this morning had passed all but the northern portion of the North Island. Winds which had been light to moderate In most places became strong and squally, numbers of places experiencing gales from a westerly quarter.
