TELEVISION RIGHTS

FORMATION OF COMPANY

MELBOURNE, January 20,

Negotiations are proceeding for the formation of a company to acquire the Australian and New Zealand rights for the Loewe television system, now being successfully operated in England and Germany. John and Frank Nevin and E. J. Tait have acquired the patent rights, and it is likely that J. C. Williamson, Limited, will be associated in the project. The Director of the Post and Telegraph Department, Mr. H. P. Brown, commenting on the move, said Government approval would be necessary before private enterprise could embark on television.
