(Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMERSTON N., This Day. By the smallest of margins, a railway 'surfaceman, John Berry, aged 39, married, of Palmerston North, missed death near Tokomaru yesterday morning. He was proceeding towards Palmerston North 'on a jigger and did not notice a relief express train from Auckland till it was almost on top of him. Berry flung himself clear as the jigger was smashed to'pieces by the engine. He suffered a cut on the forehead and i abrasions under the chin as well as'] slight concussion.
