(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, This Day. The Wanganui carnival opened with a regatta on Boxing Day in beautiful summer weather and with a large crowd watching the events on the river. Maori canoe and speedboat races contributed to 'the programme, but chief interest centred in the rowing. Results:— Maiden Fours (open).—Star No. 1, 1; Aramoho, 2; Star No. 2, 3. Maiden Double Sculls.—Union, 1; Aramoho, 2; Petone, 3. Youths' Fours. —Union, 1; Petone, 2; Wellington, 3. Senior Fours.—Union (R. Gould str, H. Benge, G. Delves, and A. Tonks), 1; Wanganui, 2; Aramoho, 3; Star, 4. Won by a length. Junior Fours (open).—Aramoho, 1; Petone, 2; Union, 3. Maiden Fours. —Union, 1; Star, 2; Wellington, 3. Senior Single Sculls.—R.
