HUTT V. MERCANTILE LEAGUE
When "The Post" went to press on Saturday Hutt Valley had lost five wickets for GO runs in their match against vthe Wellington Mercantile League representatives at the Petone Recreation Ground. F. Thome and P. Dudley, however, did something to retrieve the position, and Hutt were all out for 145" runs. In reply the League had lost five wickets for 114 runs when stumps were drawn. Three wickets fell cheaply, Matthews taking two in succession. M. Liddicoat, I. Ramsay, and R. Watts gave solid displays, the partnership of 65 between the last two-named batsmen being especially valuable.
