With a £1000 Cup and two £300 events on the'first day, the Auckland Trotting Club's first step towards its goal of reviving the palmy days- it experienced in the boom years has been highly successful. The fields are all of excellent quality j and 'the clash of Auckland with Canterbury form in several of the events should contribute to the most interesting racing. : !;' The betting will be under the win-and-place system.
