WHY PRICES RISE

CHICAGO, December 25.
A newspaper commentator attributed one of the causes of the sharp advance in the price of wheat to the wet weather in Australia and the tendency to reduce estimates of the year's crop. Closing deals here show top net gains of 3i to 5 3-8 cents a bushel.
