In many parts of Britain there were heavy falls of snow during the weekend and in the London area the first fall of winter caused some disorganisation in road transport, the; surf aces on many roads in the Home counties being in a dangerous condition. Snow lay so thick on some roads in,northern England and Scotland as to, render them impassable. The cold weather continued today with bright sunshine.
