The State Department has issued a Presidential executive order forbicV I ding the marriage of American diplo- . matic and consular officers to foreigners. Eighteen per cent, of foreign per- j vice officers and 27 per cent, of Embassy and Consular clerks have contracted such marriages. ■ The statement declares that iv the present condition of world affairs any tendency further to increase the number of marriages of this character must be regarded with concern and permission will now bo required from the Secretary of State.
