The exodus of sheep from the Gisborne district to the northern districts I commenced this year earlier than usual, 20,000 wethers now being on their way to the Waikato. The main mobs of ewes will not leave until next month. Last year this district provided approximately 300,000 sheep for other parts of the Dominion.
