MOTOR-SHIPS
MANNING SCALE AGREEMENT
The manning of motor-ships and certain fishing vessels is provided for in the Shipping and Seamen Amendment Bill, introduced into the House of Representatives last evening.
The Minister of Marine (the Hon. P. Fraser) said that the Bill was prepared by the last Government, and was purely of■ a technical nature. There had been complete agreement on the manning scale, and the stewards. and seamen desired the engineers to have the scale operative.
The Bill was read a first time.
