INCREASE IN BUSINESS
The Postmaster-General (the Hon. F. Jones) announced today that business in his Department for the half-year ended ■ September 30 amounted to: £1,960,169,. the : figures for the corresponding -.. period last year being £1,820,748.: , ; ~.■■_. The main increases were:— ■. ! Postages . .'.....■;.....!. 34,367 Telegraphs ....;...;. 14,182 ' . Tolls . ............ 25,885 j Telephones 54,031 I For the month of September the I increases as compared with the same month last year were:— Tolls ~.;..•.; 18.70 per cent. ■ ; Telegrams; .. 16.09 per cent.
