DRUNKEN DRIVING

TALKIE DEMONSTRATIONS

LONDON, October 21

The police are testing a new scheme to check drunken driving. It is said that offenders will be taken to a film Studio at police headquarters, where their attempts to walk a chalked line and answer questions and their rendering of "British Constitution" will be made into a talkie film to be shown to Magistrates.

The police are perturbed at the number of charges dismissed owing to a conflict of medical evidence, and it is hoped this will solve the problem.
