SCHOLA CANTORUM.

Widespread interesthasbeen created among the musical people of Wellington by the announcement that thennc r ly-formed Schola Cantorum is to give a choral recital in: the Concert" Chamber on Wednesday evening next. The programme to ibe presented is unique, arid contains numbers by modern composers which have not previously been performed in this part of the" world. Perhaps the most outstanding will be the "Three Carols," by> Peter Warlock, and "Ode on a Grecian Urn," by Gustav Hoist. A fifteen-minute work, "Benedicite." by Vaughan Williams, will complete this interesting recital. The acompaniments will be played by a string ensemble led by Miss Ava Symons, and the whole will be conducted by Mr. Stanley Oliver. The box plan is now open at Messrs. Begg and Co., and the indications are that the Concert Chamber will be filled.
