SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION CONCERT
A large; number of parents and friends were present ;last night at the prize-giving "ceremony of the central district of the Wellington Sunday School.Union, which.was held in' the Taranaki: Street Methodist Hall. Mr.
W. E. Howe presided. ' ■ Before the presentation of the prizes the - Rev. A. B. Kilroy/ gave a short address to the pupils, and a concert of varied and interesting, items was given by the children. Joyce McGuire (Thorndon Methodist) played a piano solo,' "The Pew: of Dawri"; Ross Blanchard (St. John's Presbyterian) recited "Paul Before Agrippa"; and Ngaire Keys (Taranaki Street Methodist) gave a skipping dance. The first half of the programme was concluded by £i recitation by Patricia Burnett (Terrace Congregational), "A Little Old Garden/ sung by Joyce Richards (Cambridge Terrace Congregational), and a tableau, "Away in a Manger," presented by pupils of the Aro Street Methodist Sunday Shocol:
The second half opened with a Dutch sketch by pupils of Cambridge Terrace, a vocal duet by pupils of Kent Terrace Presbyterian, followed by recitations by Jack Dexter (Vivian Street Baptist) .and Shirley Porteous (Brooklyn Baptist), arid the final item was an action'song by'the girls of St. John's Sunday School. The prizes were presented by Mrs. Kilroy. ;
