CHRISTCHURCH, This Day,

The pilot who intends to fly from England to New Zealand, Mr. L. E. Clark, is a farmer,of Waikari. He has been a member of the Canterbury Aero Club since 1934, and is a club-trained pilot holding an A licence. He left for a holiday trip in Britain six months ago, and recently wrote to the club offering to fly out any machine which the club might purchase.

As a member of Mr. Bernard Skinner's parachute-jumping class at Wigram some months ago Mr. Clark was the first of the class to make a, jump, which.he did' successfully, but he landed on a fence. ■;.'.'
