"The greatest importance must be attached to the purity of foods, particularly of young people, but the circumstances of this case justify only a nominal fine," said Mr. E. D. Eiawlinson that on August 24 he had purchased some milk at the defendant's dairy, the milk being taken from an open 2£-gallon enamel bucket, lie had verified the facts- and had found that the milk was the bottom half of a five-gallon can purchased from the Wellington Municipal Milk Department. The other half had been tested at another dairy and had been found to have more than the necessary cream content. ."'. Mr. Mosley: Surely the municipality trusts its officers to use a stirer.
