MELBOURNE, October 19. Talking, winner of the A.J.C. Derby and who was third in the Caulfleld Cup, was sold today by Mr. S. Cash to Mr. Alan Cooper for £19,000, which is easily a record for a thoroughbred in Australia and New Zealand, the previous highest price being £16,800 for Heroic.

Mr. Copper was closely associated in i-acing with- the late Mr. John Brown, the Newcastle millionaire. He hopes lo use Talking at the stud within two years. Talking has won £5277. in stakes. He will remain in A. G. Papworth's stable for the present. His next start will be in the V.R.C. Derby.
