GRIEVOUS. INJURIES
(By Telegraph-—Press Association.)
PAHIATUA, This Day.
Admitted to the Pahiatua Public Hospital last evening, Grace Lillian Burns, single, whose parents are believed to reside at Feilding, died early this morning.
The deceased had been employed at Eketahuna at a private hotel for the past month as a domestic. She had been hanging tea towels out to dry on the upper portion of a two-storey building at the rear of the hotel, and it is surmised that she missed her footing and fell to the ground, landing on her head. It was some time before she was noticed.
A doctor and a nurse were summoned quickly and everything possible was done for the unconscious woman, but her. condition. was hopeless, as she had sustained grievous injuries to the head and her body was paralysed. She failed to regain consciousness in hospital. ' -
