EMPIRE MIGRATION
STIMULATION MOVE
SPURRING GOVERNMENTS TO ACTION
(Received October 20, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, October 19. The Overseas Trade League has been merged with the Empire Migration Settlement Group under the title of the Empire Migration Settlement Movement, with a view to stimulating migration coupled with properly-organ-ised and adequately-financed settlement within the Empire. Mr. H. D. Donaldson, joint organis-J ing director of the movement, informed the Australian Associated Press, agency that thousands of applications by pros-1 pective migrants had been received before the amalgamation. Those interested in migration were fed up by the lack of Government results, andj felt that nothing would' be done till there was a co-operative effort by every voluntary body in Britain to speed on the Governments to action. Official circles do not oppose the new body. It is known that many leading citizens are behind the move.
