VIENNA, October 18.

Standing on top of a specially-erected tower 70 feet high, Dr. Schuschnigg addressed the greatest political rally ever held in Austria. It is estimated that 350,000 people were present on the Schmelzi the former Imperial parade ground, including 150,000 who were brought frona all parts of Lower Austria.

Dr. Schuschnigg said that his aim was to give.every Austrian work. He also promised free milk for school children, and cheaper coal.

The speech evoked little enthusiasm.
