. Results in the opening, games of the Hutt Valley Cricket Association competitions were as follows: — A Grade. Todd Motors, 134 (J. Duffy 39, Henderson 23),, beat Gracefield, 52. Bowling for Todd. Motors, T. Balks took live wickets for 22 runs and J. Duffy three for 7. Empire, 130 for three wickets, declared -a. J. Halligan 48, R. E. Mitchell 26, A. G. White 35), beat Meadows, 59 (H. Jones 16) and 109 (R. Greer 35). Bowling for Empire, A. T. Wood took five wicWets for 14 runs, R. Mitchell two for 5. For Meadows,' R. Groer took two lot 31 and Bramley. one for 34. Bell Park, 137 for nine •wickets, declared (Longeran ■61 not out), beat Taita, 67 and 70 (Pudney 26). Bowling for Taita, Meyrick took four wickets for 38 runs and Moore three for 26. Gear United, 109 (Bryant 47), beat Eastbourne, 58 and 97 for six wickets. Bowling for Gear United, J. Brice took seven-wickets for 16 runs and C. O'Halloran four for 48. Trafalgar- Park 125 (Thorn 34, Lapworth 26, Clunie 24) beat General Motors 79 (Pegler 17). B6wling for Trafalgar Park, Thorn took three wickets for 18, Gyde two for 17, Barnes two for 13. For General Motors, H. Bramley took four for 24, Fox two for 6. B Grade. Metters United, 110 (A. Chudleigh 50, R. Chudleigh 24), beat Hibernians, 16 and 80. Bowling for Metters United, R. Chudleigh took' six wickets for 7 runs and five for 25, and A. Chudleigh four for 9 and two for 17. Woollen Mills, 86 (Sykes 35, Buckland 20), defeated Waiwhetu, 84. Bowling for Woollen Mills, J. Cate took nine wickets~for:29,runs. Central defeated Epuni outright. General Motors 67 (Dendon 20) beat Munt, Cotterell, and Neilson 36. Bowling for General Motors, McGregor took five wickets for 5 runs,. Lore four for 11. C Grade, Oddfellows. 82 (Brocklebank 32) and 36, beat Taita, 58 and-52 for five wickets. Bowling for Oddfellows, Brocklebank took seven wickets for ■20 runs. Gear United, 48 (Bullen 27) and 111 (Murray 48, Martin 21), beat Trafalgar Park, 59 and 21. , Bowling for Gear United, J. Martin took eight wickets for 7 runs and five for 15, and Murray five for 7. Todd Motors, 149 .(Salt 65, Strickland 52), beat General Motors, 124. Bowling for Todd Motors, Strickland took five wickets for 28 runs. V.M.C.A., 94 (Edwards 37, Bates 37) and 20 for one wicket, beat Gracefield, 46 and 79. Bowling for V.M.C.A., Heald took five wickets for 14 runs. I) Grade. Metters United, 163 for six, declared (Jack McGurk 116 not out), defeated Hibernians, 40 and 54.
