YOUNG RIDER'S SUCCESS

MELBOURNE, October 18.

The Warrnambool to Melbourne,road cycle race of 154 miles was won by the 21-year-old Australian J. McEvoy, whose handicap was 43 minutes. McEvoy's time was 7 hours 17 minutes 28 seconds. The Victorians T. Garratfce and E. Gregory, both off 40 minutes, were second and third respectively. There were two lengths between first and second and the same distance between second and third.

Fastest time went to a Victorian, A. Angus, off scratch. His time was 6 hours 4 minutes 50 seconds. Angus won the Australian professional road championship.
